Japan Knife TOKU | Tanegashima scissors, black finish

These are black-finished scissors made in Tanegashima.
It has been designated as a traditional craft of Kagoshima and is said to never need to be sharpened.
This is a masterpiece that has been made using blacksmithing techniques that have been preserved since the introduction of firearms.

Steel is prone to rust and is therefore often avoided, but the blackened finish makes it rust-resistant.

Just like the production of knives, each one is made by hand.
The left and right sides are forged separately, and two that go well together are then crimped together.
It seems that combining two compatible blades is like finding a compatible couple.
In addition, since it is made from the same steel as kitchen knives, it has excellent sharpness.
Once you use it, you will be amazed at how sharp it is.
Of course, these scissors can be used for a long time.

Material: Yasugi steel, white paper No. 1
finish: black finish

Tanegashima is the place where firearms were introduced from Portugal in 1543.
Additionally, since high-quality iron sand has been available here since ancient times, it is also a place where blacksmithing techniques have developed.
Today, two brothers, craftsmen, work in that area every day, demonstrating their skills in making knives and scissors.
Please try out our seed scissors, which have been developed based on tradition and technology.
