About “Japanese Kitchen Knife Toku”

Sakai is home to the tomb of Emperor Nintoku, which is registered as a World Heritage Site. The three Mimihara Tombs, along with the tombs of Emperor Hanzei and Emperor Richu, have been close to me since I was a child. When I was a child, I called the ancient tombs "Moryu-san, Moryu-san." The character "Toku" used in the tomb of Emperor Nintoku, which is such a familiar tomb, has the meaning of "acquired character," "socially valuable qualities," and "desirable attitudes that widely influence others." When considering all of these, we thought that it was a suitable character to make Sakai's knives known and used by people around the world, with Sakai as our base, and decided to use "Toku" as the inscription. As for the logo, we designed it with the handwritten character "Toku" as the motif of the ancient tombs registered as World Heritage Sites. We hope that everyone who purchases our knives will have "Toku."
